Last Thursday, grade 3/4 represented our whole school at The Victorian Schools Garden Awards 2013, held at the Botanical gardens.
Our students travelled sustainably by train and walking, a great effort with the wild and rainy day we experienced!
As a regional winning school (Northern region), Collingwood College was invited to this event. Our students were also invited to sing their song about the importance of composting called- ” scraps, straw and poo!”
They all sang beautifully, accompanied on the guitar by Katherine Watson and Mia. I was very proud to watch this fantastic performance by our students.
Our students were thrilled to also accept another award on the day on behalf of our school.
We were named State winners in our category (4). An award our school justifiably deserves!
Congratulations to all those who have developed, used and maintained our school grounds during 2012-2013: our students, Trevor Andrews (our amazing groundsman), Ben Guest, classroom teachers and of course our parents and school community.
Well done Collingwood!
