On Thursday, 9 October, the Mayor of the City of Yarra, Jackie Fristacky officially opened The Doll’s House near the Collingwood College Gym. This was the culmination of a major project started by 5-6J in 2013 following the class successfully obtaining a grant from the City of Yarra. Along with there teacher Jane Gray, the students researched the history of the house and obtained furnishings from the period to set up the house as a museum. Some of this history was shared with the crowd of students, parents, teachers and members of the Collingwood Historical Society who witnessed the opening.
The Dolls House will be open for tours on Spring Fair day.
