Hi All
As you may be aware, a meeting was held on Monday after school to determine the future of the Collingwood College Parent Association (PA).
Parents are still interested in the PA continuing on, as an avenue for creating and maintaining the community spirit at Collingwood College (eg. by way of welcome picnics and morning teas), and as a line of communication between the school and the parents.
I feel that our children’s experience (and our experience) at Collingwood College could be enhanced if the PA continues. Accordingly, I have been elected President and Susie Batten has been elected Vice President.
However, under the Constitution of PA the following 2 roles must also be filled –
- Secretary (Fiona, (2014 Secretary), is putting together a whole procedures doc. for the Secretary role, so everything’s already set up ready to go)
- Treasurer
If the above roles are not filled at the next meeting, to be held on Wednesday 13th May at 2.30pm in Meeting Room 1 (near the office), then the PA must be dissolved. Please come to the meeting if you can (we will finish before classes are dismissed). If anyone is interested in filling a role but can’t be at the meeting, they should send an email stating their interest to the Collingwood College parents email address: collingwoodcollegeparents@gmail.com
It is also worth mentioning that the PA will not be responsible for running the 2015 Collingwood College Spring Fair. A Fundraising Subcommittee will be established by School Council which will organise most fundraising activities, including Spring Fair. Having said that, please do not feel that you cannot join the Fundraising Subcommittee if you are a PA member. Life is busy. All contributions are valuable contributions and will improve our children’s school experience and the school.
Kind regards
Sherrian
